Oh Heavens. I just got a message from someone at the PTA letting me know that my room mom info social is tomorrow at 3:00. I didn't even sign up to be room mom!!!! ARGH. I was room mom last year. And it was fine. Not really a big deal. But that was KINDERGARTEN!! We're talking FIRST GRADE here people! Much more work indeed. And I was ready for a year off.
When I glanced the room mom sign up sheet on parent's night, there were NO NAMES. None. I knew they'd be scrambling for people. Maybe because I signed up on every other sheet there that night, they figured I missed one? Seriously. Wth?
Should I just do it? Or tell them how it is?

Actually room mom might be easier in 1st grade than kinder. Just tell them you'll always have to bring your 2 yr old & they probably will find another...my school is anti lil' siblings in the halls. Whatever!!! I said no this year to Special events officer. The school carnival with primary program all at once nearly killed me last year!!
em seriously. You didn't put your name down so just share the facts. Here is what you say "So, sorry I didn't sign up for room Mom." Then if they start to hassle you just say "I'm going through a tunnel bskrush bskrush I'm loosing y...." Then hang up and move on. Then tell me how it went.

DON'T DO IT! One minute your sucked into room mom and the next thing you know your making 200 mini cupcakes by hand at midnight for something or other... not that I would know... about that...
